About Us

Prior to establishing Grigor Lawyers in 2006, Alastair Grigor worked as a commercial litigation solicitor at Maddens Lawyers and as a Senior Associate at Galbally Rolfe.

Grigor Lawyers is a boutique firm that practices exclusively in criminal law. Having had experience in numerous cases both in Victoria and interstate, Grigor Lawyers has the knowledge and resources to provide national representation.

Having worked on a number of high profile cases, we have extensive experience in dealing in matters that require a professional and confidential manner. Our service extends to anytime of the day and anytime of the year. To deal with matters that suddenly arise our solicitors are permanently on call.

With a particular emphasis toward white-collar crime, Grigor Lawyers provides advice and representation in matters ranging from Company Director‘s liability to Section 19 Compulsory Examinations pursuant to the Australia Securities and Investment Commission Act 2001 (Cth).

Recently we have also provided advice and representation concerning the Australian Wheat Board and the Cole Royal Inquiry into the Oil for Food program.

Alastair Grigor

A former commercial litigation solicitor at Maddens Lawyers and Senior Associate at Galbally Rolfe, Alastair established Grigor Lawyers in 2006.

Alastair has worked on a number of high profile cases in the Magistrates’, County and Supreme Courts as well as appearing in the Court of Criminal Appeal.

Alastair has conducted a number of trials in Victoria and interstate and has appeared in Western Australia, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. He enjoys a reputation as a hard working lawyer who is known for his commitment and dedication.

He is admitted to practice as a legal practitioner in Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia and New Zealand, as well as the High Court of Australia. He maintains memberships with the Law Institute of Victoria, Amnesty International, Liberty Victoria and is a founding member of the Victorian Defence Lawyers Association.

Jacob Slucki

Jacob joined Grigor Lawyers in 2009 having completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Leo Cussen Institute.

Prior to that Jacob obtained a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Masters of Business from Deakin University in addition to a Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne.

Jacob has practiced exclusively in Criminal Law which often involves the defence of complex prosecutions including homicide, drugs, assault and fraud mattes, asset confiscation as well as bail applications and summary offences.

Jacob regularly appears in the Magistrates’ Court, County Court and Supreme Court of Victoria and maintains membership with the Law Institute of Victoria.

Guillaume Bailin

Guillaume joined Grigor Lawyers in 2009 and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws with Honours from Monash University as well as a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law.

Guillaume has wide-ranging experience in Criminal Law having acted on behalf of clients charged with motor vehicle, deception, theft, violence, and sexual offences. He has appeared on behalf of clients in the Magistrates’ Court, instructed counsel in a number of County Court matters and assisted in complex fraud and drug trials.

Guillaume‘s experience has covered both Criminal Law Practice and Law Reform/Policy at Government and Community organisations including the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, Victorian Department of Justice, Melbourne Magistrates’ Court, Youthlaw, Fitzroy Legal Service, and the Sexual Assault Joint Clinic at Springvale Monash Legal Service.

Guillaume also founded and currently convenes the Prison Legal Assistance Project based at Monash-Oakleigh Legal Service and is an Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force Reserve.

Jordana Fayman

Jordana joined Grigor Lawyers in 2008 and holds a Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) from Monash University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne.

Jordana has extensive experience in Criminal Law and has acted on behalf of clients charged with matters including drugs, dishonesty, theft, violence and sexual offences. Jordana has also assisted in a number of high profile trials and has frequently instructed counsel in bail applications, contested committal proceedings and pleas in mitigation.

Since being admitted to practice, Jordana has regularly appeared in the Magistrates, County and Supreme Courts as well as the Court of Criminal Appeal for individuals facing a variety of criminal charges.

Jordana maintains membership with the Law Institute of Victoria.

Felix Ralph

Law Clerk

After completing a work experience placement at Grigor Lawyers in 2006, Felix recommenced employment with Grigor Lawyers in 2008 in his current capacity as a law clerk primarily attending to case preparation and research.

He is presently completing a Bachelor of Laws/ Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Criminology) at Monash University.

Felix has had extensive experience in the Criminal Law and regularly assists with legal research, preparation of complex drug, fraud and vehicular manslaughter cases, Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT) applications and applications for diversion.

Haydn Steel

Haydn Steel

BA (Hons.), LLB., Grad Dip LP

Haydn joined Grigor Lawyers in 2010 having completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Leo Cussen Institute.

He previously obtained a Bachelors of Arts with Honours and a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University.

Haydn has appeared in all courts of the Victorian jurisdiction having instructed counsel in a vast array of matters including trials, applications for appeal and large complex drug cases. Haydn is regularly approached for advice and consultation when difficult questions of law arise. His detailed and nuanced legal advice and research is highly valued by Grigor Lawyers and our clients.

Haydn maintains membership with the Law Institute of Victoria.
